At Church of the Messiah, our vision is to change the world with Jesus: one child, one person, one family, one community at a time.
Our Children’s Ministry is a big part of how we put that vision into action.
We believe Church should:
- be a fun and safe place for kids
- get them excited to know, love, and serve God and each other
We use fun and engaging curriculum that develops Christian values and encourages the whole family to participate and learn about God together.
Sundays during 9:30am & 11 am Services
Children will begin worship with their family and then be dismissed to follow the cross to our meeting room where we will have a lesson and activity.
During prayers of the people, the children will pray and then rejoin the family to exchange the peace.
Current Children's Church Series
Jesus in Jeans: Jesus in Real Life Curriculum Series for K-5
Jesus in Jeans shares Jesus’ life and teachings with kids from k-5th grade in a relevant way that will help them relate to Him and apply His truths to their everyday lives. The end goal is to help them grow strong in body and wise in spirit, living a balanced daily life in the grace of God. The curriculum is based around Luke 2:40, which reads: “There the child grew strong in body and wise in spirit. And the grace of God was on him.” We will strive to include the tools kids need to be happy, healthy, prosperous, and successful in their Christian walk. All lessons flow from three main principles that will inspire kids to follow Jesus’ example:
- Grow strong in body and obey even when your body doesn’t want to
- Live wise in spirit and liste to your heart so that you will make wise choices
- Enjoy God’s favor and grace in everyday life
SHINE Kid’s Club:
Sundays from 4:30-6 pm in the Youth Hall
Elementary-aged children learn to SHINE by loving and serving God in all they do.
They will hide God’s Word in their hearts with scripture memorization, work on service projects, learn Bible truths, and make lasting meaningful friendships.
Our time together includes games, music and prayer and concludes with the option of a simple supper with the rest of the parish family at 6 pm in the Parish Hall, followed by the 7 pm Casual Communion service.
