The Great Divorce
Published in 1946, The Great Divorce is Lewis’s fanciful vision of what would happen if souls from Purgatory were allowed vacations in Heaven. A number of such souls board a bus, arrive in heaven, and are each invited to stay. Their individual responses say much about our own choices in light of eternity with our loving Creator.
