Statement of Belief
The music ministry at Church of the Messiah seeks to follow God’s command to
“Make a joyful noise”! We have opportunities for those who are seeking to serve God through
music. We believe that music should enhance worship, open one’s heart to hear the Word of God,
and enable us to lift praises to Him, through a variety of vocal and instrumental opportunities.
Like the congregation we help lead and serve, our music and people come in many diverse styles
and backgrounds – we are united in Jesus Christ, our Lord!
This group sings at the 9:30 AM worship service, with some who also wish to sing at 8 AM,
although that isn’t required. Membership is open to all vocalists ages 14 through adult.
Rehearsals are at 6:15 PM, Wednesday evenings.
This group plays and sings at our 7 PM worship on Sunday evenings. It is open to all ages for
vocalists and instrumentalists who want to praise God in a more informal, blended worship
setting. Rehearsals are at 6:30pm immediately before the 7PM service.
The Worship Band plays at the 11AM contemporary worship service each Sunday. We sing and
play contemporary Christian music, both what is currently heard on the radio as well as older,
great and timeless songs and new arrangements of traditional hymns. Rehearsals are at 7:15,
Wednesday evening. Singers and instrumentalists interested in this ministry should contact Linda
Ellison, Music Minister, for an audition and personal interview.
All are invited to join us as we go to the Celebration of Reverend Tracy Dugger as Rector of Episcopal Church of the Nativity. There are a few spots left in the van we are taking on Sunday. Call the church office at 407-656-3218 to reserve your place in the van.
