Statement of Belief
The music ministry at Church of the Messiah seeks to follow God’s command to
“Make a joyful noise”!
We have opportunities for all ages who are seeking to serve God through music.
We believe music should:
Enhance our worship,
Open our hearts to hear the Word of God,
And enable each worshiper to encounter God personally through a variety of vocal and instrumental opportunities.
Like the congregation we lead and serve,
Our music and musicians come in a diverse range of styles and backgrounds.
We are united in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior and celebrate our differences in Him each day!
This group sings at both the 8 AM and 9:30 AM worship services. Membership is open to all vocalists ages 14 through adult.
Seraph Theater Summer Camp is the first two weeks after school is out in June and is open to children in grades K-12.
This group plays and sings at our 7PM worship on Sunday evenings. It is open to all ages for vocalists and instrumentalists who want to praise God in a more informal, blended worship setting. Rehearsals are at 6:30pm immediately before the 7PM service.
The Worship Band plays at the 11AM Contemporary Communion service every Sunday. We play songs ranging from today’s praise music such as Lincoln Brewster, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Don Moen and Newsboys, to timeless praise music such as the Maranatha Band and the Gaithers, to new arrangements of traditional hymns. There is truly something for everyone seeking a more contemporary worship style! We are always looking for committed musicians and vocalists to audition for this group. If you think this might be the ministry for you, contact our Music Minister to schedule an audition and personal interview.
